Steps for Samuel is a 501c3 project located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Our mission is to Honor Angels, Aid Families and Educate the Community. We became a non-profit, 501c3 in the Spring of 2019. Prior to this, the project was ran exclusively off private donations for six years. We would like to thank all of you who have helped make this possible. As a non-profit we are always accepting donations to continue and to expand our mission.

Do you know a family who would benefit from comfort kits or flowers for a loss or memorial event?
Please be aware that the Medical Center Bowling Green and Fairview Health have these kits on hand and families likely received comfort kits there.

Why should I support this project?
Because one in four pregnancies end in miscarriage (marchofdimes.com, 2013). The March of Dimes (2013) also states that one in 160 pregnancies end in stillbirth. Women are taught not to announce a pregnancy until your second trimester....in case something happens. If the forbidden happens, the family is left to grieve alone because no one knew to begin with. When a baby dies due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), low birth weight, accidents and other causes people tend to avoid the family, not knowing what to say. The death of a baby is not something we are every prepared for. Won't you help us create a community of fellowship where we can speak our children's name without shame?

2023 PAIL
Awareness Event
The 2023 Steps for Samuel Memorial Event was held on October 12, 2023 at the Bark Park at H.P Thomas Park in Bowling Green, KY to honor our babies. We began our evening with the reading of the proclamation by Melissa Cansler, City Engineer of Bowling Green and Sergeant Melissa Wartak of the Bowling Green City Police. Also an appreciation to Samantha Berry of Eli's Village for speaking at the event to raise awareness about Pregnancy and Infancy Loss. We were honored to have them with us on this most solemn night. We honored this year as our 11th anniversary of reading baby's names and a short walk along the park.
